Antique 19th Century Tin Lamp (Whale Oil? Kerosene?) Fitting on the top I believe is brass.
No makers mark I can find. I am not an expert on these, age is best guess based on looking at numerous comps, so use your own best judgement when purchasing. Not sure how to tell what the intended fuel is. Base of it sounds like it has pebbles or something inside that rattles when shaken. The tube that goes inside from the lid is broken off but sits inside the hole as shown in the last pic.
